Roller Skiing

History
rollerskis First built in the mid 30s in Italy and northern Europe.
Early in 1950, when skiing background began to evolve into a serious competitive sport, the need grew good summer training. Worldwide from 1950 to 1970 experienced people, with skis on wheels.
In the 1970s came something of a norm and the first races took place. At this time all had a front wheel rollerskis and two wheels on the back. The metal structure was between 70 and 100 centimetrs (2'4 "and 3'4") long.
The athletes felt they could begin to engage in competition. In 1976, Giustino From Vecchio, an air pilot, set a record in Monza doing 240.5 km in 24 hours thanks to the skirolls was designed with materials and technologies in the aviation industry; narrow tread with solid wheel drive, reverse the ball bearings to lock-up to push forward.
At first skis were developed with a front wheel and two wheels behind. The introduction of skating (free technique) in skiing background involves some changes in the use of materials and training methods, which consequently has an impact on rollerskis (perhaps the changes were initiated by rollerskis, with that skating is much easier). From 3-2 wheels, much lighter and easier to use, rollerskis could be used both for classic and skating. Miorin Paolo, with its famous Skirollo, can be considered the inventor of the innovative two-wheeled rollerskis.
Races
The races became international and the need monitor grew serious. Around 1985, the European Federation rollerski was established and the first European Championship was organized in the Netherlands in 1988.
The development of the sport rollerski caused the FIS (International Ski Federation) to notice rollerski sport. In 1992 Congress decided to incorporate sport rollerski. After of the first World Games in The Hague in 1993 the first World Cup races, which was held in the same year. In 1998 in Prague, the Congress decided to grant rollerski sport the official FIS World Championships. In August 30-September 3, 2000, these competitions were organized in the Netherlands.
Races are very distinct: from just up the hill to the flat to undulating tracks. Since relays, sprints (typically 200 meters) and racing team races and individual pursuit races. In flat roads, the speed can be as fast as 50 kph (30 mph). The average speed on flat tracks in World Cup races can be 30 kilometers per hour (nearly 20 miles per hour). As in regular cross-country skiing, roller compete in classic style and free. Helmets and goggles in competitions are mandatory.
World Cup and World Championships
The Italian, rollers Russian, Norwegian, Swedish and German, have been very strong in competitions compared with other nations since the beginning in 1993.
Men
So far, the World Cup and World Championships have been dominated by some very good rolls. The more successful skiroller Italian Alfio di Gregorio, who has won the World Games three times and the World Cup four times. Then include Russian Igor Glushkov who have won World Cup three times. One of the great cross-country skiers have noticed in the sport, is the Frenchman Vincent Vittoz, which reached the World Championship in 2002. Championship 2009 World Piglio be held in Italy.
Women
Mateja Bogatec of Italy was one of the most successful female roller from the start of World Cup FIS in 2000.
Team
Roller ski "classic" and "skate-style skiing" are used. Also another type of roller ski adds a whole field called roller ski. This type of roller ski is designed for harsh conditions.
For classic style roller ski resorts usually have wider wheels and a ratchet mechanism in one of the wheels, usually the front. The only front wheel rolls in the forward direction and provides resistance to "kick" wax ompared grip on the snow.
For skiing skateboarding, roller skis usually have narrower wheels (similar to those used in-line skates), with both wheels freely.
There are also types of roller skis with both small and large wheels, with a thin tip, a wheel a little thicker at the front of the union, and two wheels on the back thickness.
Skis tire roller are also available for rough pavement and off road.
Normal cross-country ski bindings and ski boots are used to most roller skis. cross-country ski poles are also used, with the "basket" replaced by a peak of tungsten carbide.
Extra recommended protective clothing (gloves, helmet, knees and elbows). Many ski training programs require the use of helmets while skiing roller.
Weltcup in 2008 Schmallenberg
Most roller skis have no brakes in good faith, with the exception of a relatively new activated brake first calf by Len V2 Jenex Johnson. Speed reducers, available on some models, the work to provide different levels of friction of the wheels. There are also techniques to reduce speed without the use of speed bumps. The most common of which is a movement similar to a snow plow snow with skis where pressure is applied to the outer edge of the roller ski and the skis pointed internally.
Rollerskis popular manufacturers are: Financial (U.S.), Briko-Maplus (Italy) V2 Jenex (USA), Marwe (Finland), Start (Finland) Ski Pro (Norway), SkiSkett (Italy), Sport Eagle (Netherlands), and one way (U.S.).
Roller skiing is very popular in Europe (France, Italy, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Russia), where many major races and even a World Cup Circuit. In North America on Wheels is popular in areas with a lot of Nordic skiers, as Canmore, Alberta, Alaska New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Minnesota, Wisconsin.
Security
Roller skiing requires balance, flexibility, strength, upper and lower body, good lungs to breathe. Like other extreme sports that are the subject of proper coordination of the body. Safety equipment should be worn always while roller skiing.
It is recommended to wear reflective clothing red lights to increase visibility in dark areas. Safety equipment such as helmet is recommended.
Nordic blading
Nordic blading is a sport that uses sticks with special tips and in-line skates or roller skis to train the whole body for skiing. The sport has been practiced for over 80 years by skiers elite cross country in the offseason and is now redescovered by the masses through skates. It is very similar to Nordic Ski Walking, the only difference is that the skates / roller skis are used. The benefits of Nordic blading is similar to the cross-country skiing if done properly. Nordic blading has also been shown to be more risky than in-line skates as the poles, are additional challenges of coordination. By using the poles, the user can be expected to develop upper body strength, and the core.
