Keeping our fingers crossed...hoping our bodies will cooperate...

Day 156
8-10-2006
Started: Herington, KS
Finished: Herington, KS
Today's Miles: 0
Total Miles: 2062.0

When we went to sleep last night we were thinking that today would probably be the day we pack up and head out. Randy's leg is definitely still in the healing stage of things, so we decided one more day of total rest would probably be to our advantage. The weather forecast probably helped in our decision as well. Today was supposed to be the last day with temperatures above 106 degrees and the weatherman was calling for storms with 60 mph winds accompanied by several bouts of hail. So, after both agreeing that we would rest one more day we laid our heads back down on our pillows and never woke again until 4:00 PM! We think that all along on this journey we have done a pretty good job of listening to our bodies, and today it was obvious that both of ours needed a day of doing completely nothing. Our bags are packed and ready to be rolled out the door. We are looking very forward to continuing west in the morning, keeping our fingers crossed that our bodies will cooperate.
