Slightly frustrated...

Day 186
9-9-2006
Started: Pueblo, CO
Finished: Pueblo, CO
Today's Miles: 0
Total Miles: 2556.5

Frustration, frustration, frustration... To walk as far as we have now and to continue to deal with blisters from new shoes is just plain frustrating. When we woke this morning, Randy had four very full, very red, very big, very sore blisters. We thought for sure that this time we got the right fit when purchasing his newest pair of shoes, but after two days of walking, his feet had enough. We're not new to the world of blisters, so after taking a good look at Randy's feet this morning we decided that it would be best to drain and soak his blisters while giving them the day off from his shoes. Thanks to our friends John and Janet, we enjoyed a very luxurious night last night in our room at the Marriott in downtown Pueblo, and when Pop Propster heard how bad Randy was feeling, he made arrangements for us to stay right where we were so Randy would have the ability to treat his feet throughout the day. We have said so many times on this trip how lucky we feel to have such great support systems and once again cannot thank our friends and family enough for all that they do to make our journey so special. So, our day today consisted mainly of draining and soaking blistered feet, hoping that we will be able to put them back inside shoes tomorrow and continue our journey west. Once again, he who reaches life's finish line first is not necessarily the winner. Our patience will continue to prevail as we deal with each and every hurdle we face along the way.

Your Friends on the ADT,
Randy and Sheri
