Colorado is the 10th state along our hike, and the 38th state admitted to the union in 1876. Colorado is well known as the home of the highest points of the Rocky Mountains. Colorado was named after the Spanish word "Colorado", meaning reddish colored. Utah's admission to the union was January 4, 1896 as the 45th state. Utah is the 11th state we will hike through. Nevada was the 36th state to enter the union and the 12th hiking state on our ADT hike. Nevada's nickname is "The Silver State", and the state motto is "All for Our Country".
