We had specific criteria in mind when selecting our backpacks. The correct fit, the appropriate size, and the overall pack weight can make all the difference in an enjoyable hiking experience.

Our backpacks will essentially become an extension of our body and therefore must be first and foremost comfortable. The internal capacity and the load bearing ability (maximum weight the harness will comfortably handle) were used to determine the appropriate pack size. Our efforts to hike lite required us to consider pack weight (empty pack) as one of our criteria. The correct fit, the appropriate size, and the overall pack weight can make all the difference in an enjoyable hiking experience.
