While the nickname, the 'Show Me State' is still a mystery, the beautiful land of Missouri is a discovery worth exploring. On May 14, 1804 the Lewis and Clark Expedition set out from the state capital, St. Louis. Missouri was named in honor of the Siouan Indian Tribe and means 'town of the large canoes'
