While Long Distance Backpacking you must carry everything you "need" with you every step of the way. We also carry a few things that we will "want" with us along the way. This article will describe some of the "wants" we will be carrying with us.

The first of our "wants" was music! We love music and we missed music a lot while hiking the Appalachian Trail. We searched out the lightest audio device we could find. We were also concerned with all weather capability. Our best option was the Trail Audio MP3 player by High Gear.





We enjoy listening to a wide range of music and will often go out of our way to find great live music. We love great local music as well, and therefore have gathered as many MP3s of our good friend Karl Werne as he would let us get our hands on.
