Nevada was the 36th state to enter the union and the 12th hiking state on our ADT hike. Nevada's nickname is "The Silver State", and the state motto is "All for Our Country". Nevada is the driest state in the country and known for its rugged, snow capped mountains and sandy desserts.  Nevada takes its name from a Spanish word meaning snow-clad.  Nevada has more mountain ranges than any other state, with its highest point at the 13,145 foot top of Boundary Peak near the west-central border.  There are 496 miles of ADT in Nevada, to learn more about our hike through Nevada click on the links throughout this Virtual Hike of Nevada.
